Karmon Production Stills

So I did a deluxe storyboard animatic a few years ago. The final video for it got lost unfortunately but the art survived. Hopefully with some sparetime I can reassemble it for everyones viewing pleasure.

BTW: These are traditionally drawn and colored using Col-R-Ase pencil, PITT pens, and Prismacolor Pencils.

Magic the Gathering: Crossbow Infantry

First piece finished completely in the set of 5. Next will hopefully be the Dragon!

Desert Labyrinth Entrance

Cleaned up my pencil sketch up in photoshop. Layed in some basic values, but not sure if I'll get right into painting it now, since I'm planning on going back to the animation side of things for a while.

Strider Hiryu and Piratess

I've been spending a lot of time digitally painting lately which explains the lack of new drawings I've been posting.  I think practicing the PS paintings will help me out in the long run best tho.

I still feel like my primary strength are my pencils, and I have some new works in productions, but for now, I want to completely finish these drawings so I have some serious renders in my portfolio.

El Diablo, Lord of Darkness

Here's a new style digital painting technique I've taken a fond liking to. I will finish rendering out the details and tightening this up, but I'm really starting to like what power color has over pencils. Took me a while to learn that ;)

Zelda: Link Throwback to TMNT

I loved the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on NES. The intro was awesome! Decided to do a Link version of it.

***UPDATE: Traditional color pencil and ink version added!

Untamed Swordsman Poster

Heres my character from the UTS pt2 animation I created. This render of him was done for the purpose of my DVD cover and I'll just show the evolution of it from start to finish.

The beginning sketch was done w/ a 2B pencil. I was struggling to find the right face to put on him and what I finally ended up with was what I could come as close to merging animation with illustration styles as I could. The inked version was done on my lightbox with a Pitt pen, then scanned in to my computer and cleaned up, then colored in Photoshop.

Hope you enjoy!

Flash Teenage Walk Cycle Animation

A few pages back I posted a character I created in a design class. Well I took the drawing and chopped it up into layers in Flash and animated a walk cycle with her.

Flash Flying Bird Animation

Here's a flight cycle I did in Flash. The wave of the wings were hand drawn in about 30 frames, and the rest were shape tweens.

Sin City M City Backgrouds

Heres a set of Backgrounds I drew for a Preproduction project. The style was none other than Frank Miller.

Flash Untamed Swordsman Animation II

This is mostly finished except for the special fx, background, and bgm. I'm going to piece this together with the first part and put it to the tune of some Five Finger Death Punch :)

Should be done in less than a week.

Flash Untamed Swordsman Animation

This is the opening to a flash movie I've been wanting to get off my chest for a minute. It was done in Flash, but the backgrounds were traditionally drawn and painted in Photoshop. Overall, I was surprised with how quick I could produce this piece, I think totally like 2 weeks start to finish including:

storyboard
penciltest
final line
ink and paint
backgrounds

Part 2 is almost finished as well and is a lot longer b/c its the awesome action part :)
That'll be posted shortly as soon as I'm finished with the backgrounds

Random Pencil Drawings

I want to post these just to showcase my strengths in illustration. Without them, I don't think I could enjoy the art of animation nearly as much!

Storyboard and Pencil Test Animation: Untamed Swordsman

I was assigned to do a storyboard and pencil test for an animation that may further be developed for my Animation IV class. Given the time restraint of 3 days, I was able to finish this pencil test within the first day.

Flash Axe Strike Animation

I did this animation during the break I had. I like the overall look of it and the more I polish it past this, the more I dislike it. So here it is in all its 'finished' glory :)

PS: Sorry for the short duration

Street Fighter Akuma

This took about 30 minutes
I feel like I'm getting a nice hold on Photoshop finally :)
